
Seniors Lead Orange to Victory

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Seniors Stephanie Harris and Sarah Luby each scored in No. 15 Syracuse's 3-1 win over Cornell (9-6) on Sunday afternoon. Prior to the start of the game the Orange recognized its senior class consisting of Harris, Luby and Claire Webb.
The Orange got on the board first when Carolin Hoffmann scored a penalty stroke in the fourth minute. Eight minutes later Harris scored her first career goal to give the Orange a two-goal advantage. Sophomores Tess Queen and SJ Quigley were credited with assists on Harris' goal.
Claire Jones cut Syracuse's lead in half when she scored on a Big Red penalty corner. The Orange took a 2-1 lead into halftime and outshot Cornell 11-3.
Nine minutes into the second half Luby added an insurance goal for Syracuse, scoring unassisted from the right side of the goal. It was her second goal of the weekend.
The win improves the Orange to 11-5 overall with one regular-season game remaining. It was Syracuse's 30th win in program history over Cornell.
The Orange turn their attention to the regular season finale on Saturday, Nov. 2 when they travel to Kentucky to face No. 5 Louisville at 1 p.m. Fans can watch live on ACCNX online or via the WatchESPN App.
