The Syracuse University men's soccer team added to the Orange 2019-20 IMG College Directors' Cup scoring total. The Orange advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, scoring 50 points for Syracuse. The Orange rank 17th in the Division I Fall standings and are one of nine Atlantic Coast Conference schools in the top 20. The Big Ten comes in second with four teams in the top 20, while the Pac 12 has three.

Syracuse head coach Ian McIntyre guided his squad back to the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row and the sixth time in the last eight years. Syracuse lost to St. John's in the second round and finished the season with an 8-7-5 record. Sophomore Ryan Raposo earned United Soccer Coaches All-South Region Second Team and All-ACC First Team honors in 2019.

In addition to men's soccer, the Orange field hockey and men's and women's cross country teams contributed to Syracuse's Directors' Cup point total. Field hockey head coach Ange Bradley led her team to the NCAA Tournament for the 11th time in the last 12 years and cross country head coach Brien Bell guided the men's squad to a 27th-place finish at the NCAA Championship and the women to a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Regional.

Bell guided the men's team back to the NCAA Championship for the second time in his two seasons at the helm of the program after leading the squad to the ACC Championship earlier in the year. It was the ninth conference title in the last 11 seasons, including seven ACC and three BIG EAST championships. Nathan Henderson and Matthew Scrape, who posted top-100 finishes, Noah Beveridge, Dominic Hockenbury and Kevin James all competed for the Orange at the NCAA Championship.

The Orange field hockey team returned to the NCAA tournament in 2019 as an at-large selection. A first-round loss to Princeton ended the season for the team and the collegiate careers for seniors Stephanie Harris, Sarah Luby and Claire Webb. The trio led the Orange to three NCAA Tournaments and a 47-26 career record. Charlotte de Vries and Carolin Hoffman all earned NFHCA All-America honors for their 2019 performances.
