GREENSBORO, N.C. – Claire Webb and Claire Cooke are two of 39 Atlantic Coast Conference players to earn a spot on the All-ACC Academic Field Hockey Team. The duo makes it the sixth-straight year the Orange have had multiple honorees.
Webb has started 53 of the 54 games in her career for the Orange, including all 16 games in 2018. She tied for fourth on the team last season with three assists. Webb, a junior biology major, is recognized by the conference for the second consecutive season.
Cooke is one of 10 underclassmen honored following a breakout sophomore season that included 14 starts. She recorded two goals, tied for third-best on the team. The sophomore special education major also recorded eight shots in the 2018 campaign.
All seven ACC field hockey programs are represented on the All-ACC Academic Team, led by national champion North Carolina with eight players.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
