SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse's 2019 schedule includes eight matches against squads that competed in last year's NCAA Tournament, including quarterfinalist Duke. The Orange will play five straight matches at the SU Soccer Stadium in September and will play a total of 10 games at home this season.
Â
Syracuse will play three exhibition matches to prepare for the 2019 campaign. The Orange host Niagara on Aug. 18 and Hofstra on Aug. 21 before traveling to Penn State on Aug. 24.
Â
The regular-season gets underway on Aug. 30 when Syracuse visits Georgetown, which advanced to the third round of last year's NCAA Tournament. The Orange return home for a five-game homestand, as they welcome Binghamton (Sept. 2), Yale (Sept. 6) and New Hampshire (Sept. 8) to the SU Soccer Stadium.
Â
Syracuse continues play on its home pitch when it opens ACC action against Louisville on Sept. 13 before hosting Central New York foe Cornell on Sept. 17. The Orange travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. to take on Wake Forest on Sept. 21. The Demon Deacons have been ranked No. 1 in the nation the last two times the teams have met. The squads played to a 0-0 tie in 2017 before Syracuse upset Wake Forest, 2-0, last season at the SU Soccer Stadium.
Â
After the brief road trip, the Orange return home to host Pittsburgh on Sept. 27 and UAlbany on Oct. 1. Syracuse will travel to North Carolina on back-to-back weekends, first to face Duke on Oct. 4 and then to take on the Tar Heels on Oct. 12.
Â
The Orange will play three of their final four regular-season matches at home, beginning with UConn on Oct. 15 in their final non-conference match. Syracuse hosts Clemson on Oct. 19 and NC State on Oct. 26 before closing out the regular season on Nov. 1 at Boston College.
Â
Head coach Ian McIntyre's squad earned the No. 16 seed in last year's NCAA Tournament for its fourth appearance in the national tournament in the last five years.
