Orange Picked Third in Atlantic Division in Preseason Coaches Poll

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Syracuse men's soccer team was picked to finish third in the ACC's Atlantic Division in a preseason vote of the league's head coaches. The Orange received one first-place vote and earned 42 points.
Wake Forest was picked to defend its divisional title. The Demon Deacons earned nine first-place votes and 64 points. Louisville was picked second (48 pts.), followed by the Orange and NC State (38 pts.). Clemson garnered 36 points for fifth place followed by Boston College with 18 points.
North Carolina was picked as the preseason favorite to win the 2019 championship. The Tar Heels received nine of the 12 first-place votes. Duke, Virginia and Wake Forest each had one vote. UNC was also picked to win the Coastal Division, earning 10 of the 12 first-place votes.
Sophomore Ryan Raposo was featured on the league's 2019 Preseason Watch List. He was a member of the ACC All-Freshman Team a year ago after scoring four goals and adding a team-high seven assists.
The Orange host Hofstra on Wednesday, August 21 at the SU Soccer Stadium in an exhibition match. Admission and parking are free.
