Syracuse, N.Y.- After a thrilling 4-3 overtime win at Vermont (0-1) to open the season Friday night, the Syracuse field hockey team (1-0) remains on the road for Sunday's 1 p.m. game at UMass Lowell (1-0).

SJ Quigley and Charlotte de Vries both scored their first career goals Friday night, with de Vries netting both the game-tying and game-winning goals. Junior Carolin Hoffmann also scored in the win. Freshman Sarah Sinck earned her first career win in goal for the Orange and made five saves.

UMass Lowell also opened the season with a win, earning a 3-0 win over Fairfield. Eva Berkhout earned a clean slate in goal, while Morgan Irons, Lindsey Kilpatrick and Jenna Berger each scored goals.

Sunday's meeting is the first between the Orange and River Hawks since 1990 and the second meeting in program history.

Syracuse has a quick turnaround following Sunday's match. The Orange return home Monday to face Lafayette at 6 p.m. on ACC Network Extra (ACCNX). Admission and parking are free for all Syracuse home games at J. S. Coyne Stadium. Fans unable to attend can stream the game live online or via the WatchESPN App.
