
Orange Receive Votes in Preseason Coaches Poll

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse received votes in the United Soccer Coaches men's preseason poll released on Tuesday, Aug. 6. The Orange earned 45 votes in the initial rankings.

Syracuse is coming off a successful spring season that included a 6-0 record and the U.S. Soccer Spring Development Program championship. The Orange return five of their top six scorers from last season. One of the those returners is Ryan Raposo, who was a member of the ACC All-Freshman team a year ago after scoring four goals and adding a team-high seven assists.

Overall, seven teams from the ACC a ranked in the top 25 in the preseason rankings. Wake Forest came in at the No. 4 spot, while Notre Dame was No. 9 and Duke at No. 10. North Carolina State and Clemson also received votes.

Fans can get their first look at the 2019 Orange when they host Niagara on Sunday, Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. in the first of three preseason scrimmages. Admission and parking at the SU Soccer Stadium are free.
