WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Syracuse Faces its toughest test of the season when it takes on No. 1 Wake Forest on Saturday, Sept. 21. Game time in Winston-Salem, N.C. is set for 7:30 p.m.

ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse snapped a string of three consecutive ties with a 3-2 come-from-behind win in overtime against Cornell on Tuesday. The Orange (2-1-3, 0-0-1) fell behind twice in the first half, but answered each time. After neither team scored in the second half, freshman Noah Singelmann recorded the game winner in the 97th minute to give Syracuse a 3-2 victory.

The match against Cornell was Syracuse's fourth consecutive overtime contest. The previous three ended in a tie.

SCOUTING THE DEMON DEACONS
Top-ranked Wake Forest is coming off its first loss of the season – a 1-0 setback at James Madison on Tuesday. The Demon Deacons enter Saturday's game with a 5-1 overall record, including a 1-0 mark in ACC play.

Calvin Harris leads a balanced offensive attack for Wake Forest. He has scored a team-high three goals for a team-best six points. Overall, nine different players have scored at least one goal for Wake Forest this season, while eight have at least one assist.

Andrew Pannenberg has played every minute in goal this season for the Demon Deacons. He has a 0.50 goals-against average and a .786 save percentage.

Bobby Muuss is in his fifth season at the helm of the Wake Forest program. He has guided the Demon Deacons to four consecutive NCAA Sweet 16 appearances and the 2016 College Cup where they finished as national runner-up.

THE SERIES
Wake Forest leads the all-time series with Syracuse, 3-2-2. After the Demon Deacons won three of the first four meetings between the two schools, the teams played to a 1-1 tie in both 2016 and 2017. Last season, senior John-Austin Ricks and sophomore Hilli Goldhar each scored as the Orange upset the No. 1 Demon Deacons, 2-0, at the SU Soccer Stadium.
