
Hehir Wins Marathon Project

Posts seventh-fastest time by an American ever
Martin Hehir posted the seventh-fastest time by an American in the marathon to headline a historic day in Arizona for a trio of former 'Cuse stars.
Hehir (2:08:59) won the Marathon Project event in Chandler, Arizona, while teammate Colin Bennie – both at SU and currently for the Reebok Boston Track Club – took third in 2:09:38. Paige Stoner broke 2.5 hours, finishing in 2:28:43 to conclude a record-breaking day.
Hehir, who also a full-time medical student, smashed his personal-best and won the event by 10 seconds. An All-American at 'Cuse and a member of the 2015 NCAA Champion cross country team, Hehir runs professional under the tutelage of former Orange coach Chris Fox at Reebok, along with Bennie, Stoner and track star Juystn Knight.
Bennie, another member of the title team, also broke 2:10 on the day, finishing in 2:09.38. The fast-paced race featured the most sub-2:10 performances in history, with seven runners breaking the barrier on the men's side.
Stoner, a five-time ACC Champion at Syracuse, crossed the line in 2:28.43. Sara Hall (2:20.32) earned the win in the women's race.
