SYRACUSE, N.Y. - No. 25 Syracuse (6-1, 1-0 ACC) is undefeated no more after dropping its Friday match against Columbia, 4-2, at Drumlins Country Club. The loss snaps Syracuse's six match winning streak and concludes non-conference play for the season. The Orange return to the courts Sunday at 11 a.m. to host No. 10 Duke. Sunday's match features a t-shirt giveaway and is a Rewards Game. Fans with the official 'Cuse app can earn 1,000 points for coming to the game, and free pizza will be available.

How it Happened:
Doubles
Syracuse started the day off against the Lions in doubles play. The No. 2 doubles pair of Kim Hansen and Sofya Treshcheva got things going for the Orange, taking down Columbia's Melissa Sakar and Julia Haynes 6-1. Sofya Golubovskaya and Zeynep Erman took on Jennifer Kerr and Shivani Amineni at No. 3. After going down 1-3 early, the Orange duo cut the deficit to one, trailing just 4-5 before ultimately losing 6-4

With each team taking a doubles victory, the first point of the day came down to the No. 1 match. Miranda Ramirez and Guzal Yusupova took on Columbia's Akanksha Bhan and Paulina Ferrari. The pairs traded games early before Bhan and Ferrari eventually came away with the 6-4 victory to put Columbia up 1-0.

Singles
Golubovskaya opened singles play with a 2-1 lead over Sakar at No. 3 before losing her opening set 6-2. Columbia would go on to earn its second point of the day after Golubovskaya was forced to retire due to injury.

With the Lions up 2-0, Ramirez continued her singles dominance, winning her first set against Jennifer Kerr, 6-0, at No. 2. Ramirez took down Kerr, 6-3, in her second set to give Syracuse its first point of the day and extend her perfect record to 7-0. Hansen also remained undefeated at 7-0 with a 6-1,6-2 victory over Michelle Xu at No. 5. Her win evened the team score at 2-2 and marked her sixth two-set sweep of the season.

Yusupova, took on Bahn in the No.1 singles spot. Yusupova and Bahn traded games before Bahn won the first set 7-5. Bahn ultimately took the second set, 6-3, to give Columbia a 3-2 lead on the day. Treshcheva took on Amineni in the No. 4 singles slot and the pair traded games all match before Amineni won 7-6 (7-5), 7-5 to clinch the win for Columbia. With Columbia's win secured, Syracuse abandoned the No. 6 singles match where Zeynep Erman was leading Julia Hayes, 7-5, 5-5.
