
FORMER ORANGE NAMED TO CANADA SOCCER PROVISION LIST FOR OLYMPIC QUALIFYING

TORONTO – Syracuse men's soccer will be represented on Canada Soccer's 50-player Provisional List for the upcoming 2020Concacaf Men's Olympic Qualifying Champioship. Kamal Miller, Tajon Buchanan, and Ryan Raposo look to help Canada qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Miller will be attending his third camp with the Canadian squad. He has played in 16 matches, making 14 starts, for Orlando City SC of the MLS after being selected by Orlando with the third pick of the second round in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft. Miller was a four-year starter for the Orange. In his senior season he was selected as a team captain and earned All-ACC and All-Region Third team honors.
Buchanan was selected No. 9 overall in the 2019 SuperDraft by the New England Revolution. He has played in 10 games, starting in four. He played for the Orange from 2017-18 and led the team in goals (8) and points (12) his sophomore year.
Raposo was selected with the fourth overall pick in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft by Vancouver FC. Last season, Raposo led the Orange in goals (15) and points (37). He set a school record for most points and goals by a sophomore and was voted to the All-ACC First Team and the United Soccer Coaches All-South Region Second Team. He was one leading scorers in Division I in 2019, ranking seventh in points and 11th in goals in the final statistics.
The 50-player roster will be trimmed to a 20-player roster, which will be announced on March 11.
