
11 Named to 2019 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA National Academic Squad

Eleven members of the Syracuse field hockey team have been named to the 2019 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad, announced Tuesday by the NFHCA. The National Academic Squad program honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the 2019-20 academic year.
A total of 1,052 student-athletes from 75 institutions were selected including 77 from the seven Atlantic Coast Conference schools. Hailey Bitters, Sasha Bull, Claire Cooke, Chiara Gutsche, Alexis Morales, Clara Morrison, Kailey Smith, Marie Sommer and Nina Watson all earned the distinction while the Orange landed two four-time honorees, seniors Stephanie Harris and Claire Webb, more than any other program in the ACC.
Last week, Syracuse was honored as one of 73 NCAA Division I programs that earned Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA National Academic Team honors.
