
Cooke, Morrison Named NFHCA Division I Scholars of Distinction

Gilbert, Ariz. – Syracuse junior Claire Cooke and freshman Clara Morrison are two of 167 student-athletes that have are 2019 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I Scholars of Distinction. The duo becomes the second and third NFHCA Scholars of Distinction in program history joining Iona Holloway (2012).
The Division I Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the fall semester of the 2019-20 academic year. Cooke and Morrison are two of six student-athletes honored from Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) programs. Louisville led the way with three selections and North Carolina had one, Mimi Leonard, in addition to the Orange pair.
Cooke and Morrison were also named to the NFHCA Academic Squad this season and helped Syracuse field hockey to secure its 13th NFHCA Academic Team Award in the last 14 years.
