Orange Add Carly Bothof for 2020 Season

Syracuse, N.Y – Carly Bothof, an Abcoude, Netherlands, native is the newest addition to the Syracuse field hockey roster for the 2020 season.
"I am thrilled to have Carly join our Syracuse Field Hockey family. When I saw Carly play she reminded me of three-time All-American and program assist leader Martina loncarica," said head coach Ange Bradley. "She is free, fun, very focused, competitive and determined. Carly also possesses great speed, quickness, aggressiveness and the ability to create scoring opportunities in the final third. She will make an immediate impact on our squad."
Bothof brings a high level of championship experience. She was part of the Netherlands' National Youth Indoor Hockey Championship in 2017, and was part of the runner-up squad in 2018. Her team also earned bronze in 2019.
"I had the best connection with Ange, Katie and Alan," Bothof said. "I felt they were the best fit for me and that they have a lot of confidence in me and will bring out the best in me. Syracuse is also an extremely good school and well respected. I am honored to be a future Orange."
Carly plans to major in business at the Martin J. Whitman School of Management.
