Bennett Signs Professional Contract

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The list of Orange in the pros continues to grow as Taylor Bennett has signed a contract with Afturelding, which is a second division team in the Iceland professional women's soccer league.

"I can't thank Syracuse women's soccer, Nicky Adams, her staff and Syracuse University enough for the opportunities that were presented to me to succeed," Bennett said. "I am really excited for this next chapter of my life and I know I am prepared because I have learned from the best during my time as a Syracuse women's soccer student-athlete. I will always bleed Orange."

Bennett was a four-year starter on the back line for Syracuse, helping the Orange record 21 shutouts during her career. In addition, Bennett led all defenders with five points as a sophomore after tying for the team lead in assists (3) during her freshman campaign.

The Dryden, N.Y. native earned her bachelor's degree in physical education with an emphasis in coaching in May.
