Twenty-two members of the 2019 Syracuse women's soccer team have been named to the 2019-20 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Academic Honor Roll.
Highlighting the list is graduate student Santita Ebangwese, who earns the honor for the fifth consecutive year after being named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll as a member of the Syracuse volleyball team for the past four years. Ebangwese was recently named as the recipient of an award from the Fulbright U.S. Student Program to study at Paris-Saclay University in France.
Georgia Allen, Clarke Brown, Kailee Coonan, Kate Donovan, Kate Hostage and Mackenzie Vlachos earned the honor for the third time while Shannon Aviza, Taylor Bennett, Stephanie deLaforcade, Laurel Ness, Jenna Tivnan and Ally Wakeman each made their second appearance on the Academic Honor Roll.
Meghan Root makes her first appearance on the ACC Academic Honor Roll after also being named to the All-ACC Academic Team in January. Root was the first Orange women's soccer player to be named to the All-ACC Academic Team since goalie Courtney Brosnan in 2018. Joining Root as first-time honorees are Sydney Brackett, Kailey Brenner, Marisa Fischetti, Teri Jackson, Molly Nethercott, Alexandra Panaggio, Alex Steigelfest and Michaela Walsh.
The Orange accumulated the academic recognition in Coach Nicky Adams first year at the helm.
The ACC Academic Honor Roll is comprised of student-athletes who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a grade point average of 3.0 or better for the full academic year.
