Former Orange, MLS Ready For Return

Syracuse four-year starter Kamal Miller and Orlando City SC will help Major League Soccer (MLS) return to action tonight. The MLS is Back Tournament kicks off at 8 p.m. when Orlando City takes on Inter Miami CF on ESPN.

Miller is one of six former Orange who will take part in the tournament. Tajon Buchanan and the New England Revolution are back in action on Thursday, July 9 against Montreal. The 2018 MLS Cup champion Atlanta United, featuring Miles Robinson and Mo Adams, faces the New York Red Bulls on Saturday, July 11. Alex Bono and 2017 MLS Cup winner Toronto FC take to the pitch on Sunday, July 12 against D.C. United, while rookie Ryan Raposo and the Vancouver Whitecaps take on the San Jose Earthquakes on Wednesday, July 15.

Group Stage for the MLS is Back Tournament begins on July 8, while the Knockout Round, which includes 16 teams, is scheduled for July 25-28. The quarterfinals take place July 30 – Aug. 1, followed by the semifinals Aug. 5-6. The winner will be crowned on Aug. 11 and will earn the 2021 Concacaf Champions league spot. All matches will be played in Orlando. The regular season continues after the tournament.
