Former Syracuse star Miles Robinson has earned a spot on the US men's national team (USMNT) roster for the U-23 January training camp that begins on Jan. 9. The U-23 players will train alongside the USMNT senior players aged 24 and older through January and then play in a match at the end of the month (opponent unknown at this time). From there, several individuals from the U-23 team will be chosen to join the full USMNT roster.
Prior to joining the MLS and competing at the national level, Robinson was a two-year starter on defense for the Orange. During his two seasons, Robinson started all 42 matches in which he played and helped the Orange to 19 shutouts. He had four goals in both 2015 and 2016 and posted 17 points in his career. Robinson helped the Orange reach the College Cup for the first time in program history and claim the school's first ACC Championship in 2015.
After his sophomore campaign at Syracuse, Robinson signed a Generation adidas contract with the MLS. In the 2017 MLS SuperDraft Robinson was selected second overall by Atlanta United. In his four seasons with Atlanta he has played in 63 matches, making 53 starts. In 2019 he was named one of the 11 best in the MLS and was called up to the USMNT, making his first appearance against Mexico.
