Syracuse (4-5-1. 0-3 ACC) begins a stretch of three games against top-five opponents when it travels to take on #4 Duke (7-1-1) on Saturday, Oct. 2, at 7:00 p.m. at Koskinen Stadium in Durham, N.C.Â

SETTING THE STAGE
Syracuse lost at home to Wake Forest on Sept. 26, 2-0. The Orange have lost four straight contests since tying Cornell on Sept. 9.
Duke tied Virginia Tech on Sept. 26, 1-1. The Blue Devils already own victories against ranked foes #10 Stanford (2-1) and #2 North Carolina (1-0). Duke's lone loss this fall was at #7 Virginia, 1-0.
THE SYRACUSE-DUKEÂ SERIES
The Blue Devils lead the all-time series with Syracuse, 5-0-1.Â
When the matchups between Syracuse and Duke started in 2013, the two teams tied, 2-2. Since that time, Duke has won five straight matches. The Blue Devils defeated the Orange a year ago in Syracuse, 4-0.
ORANGE NEWCOMERS GAINING EXPERIENCE
Syracuse coach Nicky Thrasher-Adams has employed a number of newcomers in the Orange lineup this fall. Saturday's expected lineup at Duke will include a sophomore transfer (Zoe Van de Cloot) and five freshmen (Koby Commandant, Grace Franklin, Kylen Grant, Emma Klein, and Pauline Machtens).
COOPER AND PLUCK PACE DUKE OFFENSE
The Blue Devils have outscored the opposition, 22-5, this fall, and 10 of the goals have come from two players. Freshman Michelle Cooper already has six goals and three assists in her rookie campaign and senior Mackenzie Pluck has contributed four goals and three assists.
50 YEARS OF WOMEN'S ATHLETICS AT SYRACUSE
Orange alumni, fans and friends are invited to share in a year-long celebration of 50 years of Syracuse University women's athletics. Events and special recognition of all female student-athletes who have donned the Block S to represent Syracuse University and the Athletics Department since 1971-72 will be held throughout the 2021-22 seasons.The celebration kicks off on Thursday, October 7, when the ice hockey team hosts Clarkson at 6 p.m.
