Syracuse's three varsity eights finished first, second and fifth in the Women's Collegiate 8+ race and the Orange freshman/novice eight finished second at the Head of the Fish in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Syracuse also dominated the Women's Collegiate 4+ race, taking the top four spots with the fifth boat finishing eighth. All races were 3,200 meters.

"Our goal for today was to race more aggressively at a higher rating to move closer to the top crews we will see next week at the Princeton Chase," said head coach Luke McGee. "All of the boats stepped up to the challenge."

Syracuse's boat coxswained by junior Hannah Murphy won the Collegiate 8+ race in 10:51.54 and junior Louise Rath coxswained Syracuse's second place boat that finished less than two seconds after that in 10:53.34. Syracuse's third entry, coxswained by freshman Caileigh Grimes, in the race posted a time of 11:24.67.

The Orange freshman/novice eight, coxwained by April Serrano, finished second in a time of 11:50.41.

In the Women's Collegiate 4+ race, Syracuse's boats crossed the finish line in 11:59.39, 12:02.20, 12:18.50, 12:42.90 and 13:06.97.
