SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Orange lost to ARV Florida State Sunday afternoon in the Women's Building, 3-1. Junior Marina Markova led the Orange with 19 kills, five blocks, two aces and 10 digs.

"We were mentally tired today," said head coach Leonid Yelin. "When you take the #3 team to five sets on Friday night and have to turn around and play a very talented Florida State team, that takes a toll on the team. We have to stay more focused as we go into next weekend against Duke"

The Orange (16-12 overall, 5-11 ACC) lost set one 25-20, and then rallied to secure set two. The Orange jumped out to a 5-2 start and went on to win the set ,25-13. Polina Shemanova posted five kills in the set. Florida State (19-6, 11-4) won the third set, 25-20, and the fourth set, 25-17.

Of Note:

Markova moved into the ninth spot on Syracuse's single season kills record list with 455.
Junior Abby Casiano recorded a .538 hitting percentage and four blocks.
Junior Izzy Plummer posted five blocks.
