Q&A with Alaina Rice

As the Syracuse Orange prepare to host Colgate in the Carrier Dome on Sunday, Nov. 28 (2 p.m., ACCNX), we continue our Q&A series to help you get to know your Orange! In this edition we talk with junior Alaina Rice.
1. What is your major and what do you plan to use your degree for after graduation?
I am majoring in communications but I haven't quite figured out yet what I want to do after college.
2. Growing up in Florida, would you rather spend the day at the beach or at the pool?
I'd rather spend it at the pool because if you go to the beach you always need to wash your car after because of the sand.
3. How did attending IMG Academy for high school prepare you for college?
It was basically like college because it was a boarding school but there wasn't as many kids.
4. Your path to Syracuse has been a winding road, what has been the best part of playing basketball at Syracuse so far?
I got to spend my 21st birthday in the Bahamas with my team and they blessed me with a beautiful cake to celebrate.
5. Who is your favorite musical artist?
J Cole
6. Where would you like to visit for vacation?
The U.S. Virgin Islands
7. If you had to play one of your Syracuse coaches one on one, who would it be?
Coach E [ Erica Morrow] because she swears she will lock me up.
8. Would you rather hit the game-winning shot or make the game-winning stop on defense?
I'm gonna hit the game-winning shot because I know it will get the fans hype and my teammates.
9. Who is your biggest inspiration?
My mother
10. On a snowy day are you outside building a snowman and sledding or are you inside watching movies by the fireplace?
This is my first time experiencing snow so I definitely have to make my first snowman and snow angel outside.
