BALTIMORE, Md. – No. 3 Syracuse travels to Baltimore, Md. for a top-five matchup against fourth-ranked Loyola on Saturday, February 20. The contest is the season opener for both teams.

Opening draw is scheduled for 12 p.m. at the Ridley Athletic Complex. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+. Live updates will also be available on Twitter (@CuseWLax.)

ORANGE UPDATE
Before the 2020 season was cut short due to COVID-19, the Orange had a 7-1 record and were a top-five team in the country. Syracuse sports a roster with five preseason All-Americans and three preseason All-ACC players. The 'Cuse returns 2020 points leader Emily Hawryschuk, who had 46 points through eight games last season.

The Orange defense also shined in 2020, allowing a national-best 7.00 goals per game. Goalkeeper Asa Goldstock also ranked No. 1 in the country with a 7.07 goals-against average.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS
Loyola is opening its 2021 season on Saturday against the Orange. The Greyhounds were 5-0 in 2020 before the season was cancelled.

Loyola returns its six leading scorers from last season, led by Livy Rosenzweig, who had 27 points a year ago.

Jen Adams is entering her 13th year at the helm of the Loyola women's lacrosse program. She sports a career 158-66 record.

Syracuse and Loyola meet for the 21st time. The Orange own a 14-6 advantage in the all-time series. In 2019, the Orange defeated Loyola, 15-11, in Syracuse. Hawryschuk had four goals to lead the 'Cuse. Â
