Softball Travels to Albany for Midweek Game

The Syracuse softball team (18-16) is headed to Albany to face-off against the Great Danes (16-16) for a non-conference game on Tuesday, April 27. Originally scheduled as a double header, the two will now play a single game at 2 p.m.

Syracuse enters the non-conference matchup having won three of their last four games in an ACC series against Virginia. Alexa Romero threw two complete complete games allowing just five hits in 14 innings of work. She was one hit shy of a perfect game in the 1-0 series finale. Neli Casares-Maher hit .417 over the four-game stretch and Gabby Teran batted .400 with three extra-base hits including a two-run home run.

Albany has won four-straight games entering Tuesday's clash with Syracuse. The Great Danes are 7-3 at home this season, most recently sweeping Hartford in a three-game America East series. Caitlyn Mitros leads the team with a .359 batting average and Katie Falotico has a team-high 30 RBI this season with seven home runs and six doubles and a triple. She's tallied 29 hits in 99 at bats and has played and started in 30 games for the Great Danes.
