
This Week in Syracuse Softball: Orange Wrap Up the Regular Season at Home

The Syracuse softball team wraps up the regular season this weekend with a four-game series vs. No. 11 Clemson at Skytop Softball Stadium. The first game of the series is slated for 3 p.m. on Friday, May 7. Fans can watch live on ACCNX through the ESPN app.
The Orange will recognize eight seniors and grad students on Saturday for Senior Day at the conclusion of the double header. 'Cuse will recognize Alex Acevedo, Calista Almer, Miranda Hearn, Gabby Teran, Alexa Romero, Toni Martin, Lailoni Mayfield and Paris Woods as well as four-year team manager Dax Speakman for their contributions to the Syracuse softball program over their years in Orange. Syracuse (19-20, 11-17 ACC)Â is led offensively by Neli Casares-Maher who is batting .356 with a team-best 42 hits while playing in all 39 games this season. She leads the team with 11 doubles and 19 RBI while Angel Jasso has 18 RBI with a .255 batting average with 12 extra base hits. Teran, Casares-Maher and Toni Martin all tie for the team lead in home runs with five each.Â
Clemson (37-4, 26-4 ACC) is led by Valerie Cagle who has a .411 batting average with a team-best 12 home runs and 11 doubles while posting a 23-3 record as the Tigers' ace in the circle. She is holding opponents to a .180 batting average this season and has allowed just 18 extra base hits against 601 at bats. She has a 0.94 ERA and has thrown 21 complete games in 24 starts.Â
