Former Orange to Compete in Gold Cup Quarterfinals

The final day of pool play for Group B at the Gold Cup certainly had an Orange flavor as Miles Robinson and Team USA battled Team Canada, featuring Tajon Buchanan and Kamal Miller. The U.S. came out on top, 1-0, to win Group B. Both teams advanced to the knockout round and will play Sunday, July 25 in the quarterfinals.
Robinson earned SBI Man of the Match for his performance in Sunday's victory. The defender was instrumental in Team USA's shutout, its second in three matches. Robinson scored a goal for Team USA in its 6-1 win against Martinique last Thursday.
Buchanan and Miller were part of the starting XI for Team Canada on Sunday. Buchanan created several scoring chances for the Canadians, but they could not get the equalizer as they finished group play with a 2-1 record.
Both teams will play in the quarterfinals on Sunday in Arlington, Texas. Canada takes on the Group C winner (Costa Rica or Jamaica) at 7 p.m. ET, followed by the U.S. versus the runner-up of Group C. In addition, Luther Archimede will be in action on Tuesday, July 20 as Guadeloupe concludes group play against Suriname at 7 p.m. ET.
