Orange Score 11 Goals in Final Preseason Contest

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Four different Syracuse players tallied two goals each to lead the Orange in a 11-0 win against Herkimer in a preseason exhibition match on August 23 at the SU Soccer Stadium. Seven different players scored for the Orange, who out-shot Herkimer, 35-3 in the game. Deandre Kerr, Michal Gradus, Camden Holbrook and Francesco Pagano each tallied a pair of goals in the contest.

"To be out there in our stadium was great today." said head coach Ian McIntyre. "Today was a real opportunity to play and we got a lot of good work out of it."

Five Orange scored goals in the first half, including a pair of tallies from Kerr, to give Syracuse a 6-0 lead at halftime. Senior Colin Biros started the scoring with a goal just more than five minutes into the game. After Kerr scored the next two, Holbrook gave the Orange a 4-0 lead in the 39th minute. Freshmen Pagano and Curt Calov scored the fifth and sixth goals less than a minute apart to close out the scoring in the first half.

Three more Orange added to the goal total in the second half. Gradus tallied two goals in the second half followed by goals from Pagano, Holbrook and Anderson.

The Orange kick off the regular season against Drexel at the SU Soccer Stadium on Thursday, August 26th at 8 pm.
