Field Hockey Holds Steady in NFHCA Coaches’ Poll

GENEVA, N.Y. – After another 2-0 week, Syracuse University field hockey held steady in this week's Penn Monto/NFHCA Coaches Poll, holding down the 11 spot in the week six poll.
The National Field Hockey Coaches' Association (NFHCA) released its poll Tuesday morning.
Syracuse picked up 601 points this week, holding steady at number 11, picking up an additional 61 points over last week's poll.
Syracuse's opponent this week, North Carolina, occupied the top spot with 1025 points and 41of the 42 first-place votes. Maryland was second with 999 points as Northwestern (900, 1), Penn State (887), and Iowa (874) rounded out the top five.
Nine 2022 opponents were listed in this week's poll: No. 1 North Carolina (Oct. 14), No. 6 Virginia (L, 0-3), No. 7 Louisville (Oct. 21), No. 8 Princeton (L, 1-5), No. 12 Wake Forest (Oct. 28), No. 17 James Madison (W, 2-1 OT), No. 19 Boston College (W, 3-0), No. 20 Rutgers (Oct. 23), No. 24 Duke (W, 5-1).
The Orange square up with No. 1 North Carolina on Friday afternoon. Game time at Shelton Stadium is set for 3 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
