Field Hockey Lands 13 on NFHCA National Academic Squad

Syracuse field hockey landed 13 student-athletes on the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA), announced Tuesday afternoon. Graduate student Claire Cooke's recognition makes her a four-time honoree of the NFHCA's academic award.Â
Seven freshman highlight the list of Syracuse players including freshman goalkeeper Brooke Borzymowski who had a team-best 4.0 GPA in the fall semester.Â
The NFHCA National Academic Squad program, sponsored by OPA Winning Teams, honors collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year, and were nominated by their NFHCA member coach.

Three more Division I academic awards remain to be announced by the NFHCA. The he NFHCA Scholars of Distinction will be announced on February 15, the NFHCA National Academic Team awards on February 21, and the National Scholar-Athlete on February 23.
