SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse men's soccer is included in the United Soccer Coaches Poll after the first weekend of action. The Orange are ranked No. 15 after not receiving votes in the preseason poll.
The Orange were strong in their opening two matches. 'Cuse opened the 2022 campaign with a 2-0 victory over in-state foe Iona, a match in which the Orange out shot the Gaels 19-4.
Syracuse then capped off the weekend with a signature win over former top-25 opponent Penn State. The Orange were again aggressive on the attacking end, registering 29 shots compares to the Nittany Lions' 10. Fifth-year midfielder Colin Biros scored in the final ten minutes of action.
The next two matches will be on the road. The Orange first travel to Vermont for a match on Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. Syracuse then wrap-up the road trip on Monday, Sept. 5 against former BIG EAST rival UConn. The match will kick-off at 7 p.m.
