
Orange #3 in Latest USC Poll, Highest Position Since 2016

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse men's soccer is ranked No. 3 in the latest United Soccer Coaches' Poll. That is the highest poll position since the Orange hit No. 2 on Sept. 20, 2016. Syracuse is undefeated, with a record of 6-0-1, the best start to a season since 2016. 'Cuse moved up 13 spots from last week's poll.
The Orange picked up two key wins last week. Syracuse beat Niagara 1-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 13 with a goal from Levonte Johnson. The headliner was a road upset of former top-ranked and defending national champion Clemson. After allowing a goal in the first ten minutes of action, Syracuse scored two unanswered goals to win the marquee road match. Jeorgio Kocevski equalized the score at one, and Levonte Johnson won the match in the 48th minute.
Syracuse is on the road again on Tuesday, Sept. 20 for match against Colgate at 7 p.m. The match will be streaming live ESPN. The Orange are back in action at the SU Soccer Stadium on Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. against Virginia. Admission is free.
