Syracuse caps its 2023 season with a night-game encounter against Virginia at the SU Soccer Stadium on Thursday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m.
The Orange (2-13-2, 0-8-1 ACC) go for their first triumph in the all-time series with the Cavaliers (7-3-6, 2-3-4)

The Syracuse-Virginia Series:
Virginia has yet to be defeated in eight matchups with Syracuse. The two programs first met in 2006.
Syracuse had its best result a season ago when the Orange.played the Cavaliers to a 2-2 draw.

Syracuse Status:
The Orange completed a two game, Carolina swing, by taking on #3 North Carolina on Sunday. The Tar Heels prevailed, 6-1.
Redshirt sophomore Erin Flurey scored her squad-leading sixth goal of the season. Sophomore goalkeeper Shea Vanderbosch topped 10 saves for the fifth time in eight contests, earning 13 stops against the Tar Heels.
Celebrating Syracuse Seniors
The Orange had their formal senior ceremony earlier in the fall. Six players will be on the sideline for their final team for Syracuse tomorrow night: Aysia Cobb, Raia James, Kate Muphy, Hannah Pilley, Mags Thornton and Zoe Van de Cloot.
Virginia Status:
Virginia played Boston College to a 1-1 draw in its last competition.
Sophomores Maggie Cagle (7 goals, 7 assists) and Meredith McDermott (7 goals, 3 assists) are two key weapons for Virginia. Graduate student Cayla White owns an .852 save percentage in 14 starts in goal.

- Vanderbosch has accumulated 124Â saves this fall. It's the second-best mark in school history. She is 14Â stops away from the school record set by Katie Karlander in 2000.
- The Atlantic Coast Conference continues to dominate the United Soccer Coaches Poll. The ACC occupies four of the top 12 rankings and five overall in the Oct. 24Â poll.
- Syracuse junior Kylen Grant leads the Orange with 40 career starts, followed by senior Kate Murphy with 39.
- Freshman Grace Gillard has a squad-best 35Â straight starts for the Orange.Â
- Five Syracuse performers have started all 17Â matches this fall: Flurey, Gillard, Grant, sophomore Ashley Rauch and Vanderbosch.
- Syracuse assistant coach Alex Zaroyan was selected for the United Soccer Coaches 30-under-30 program.
