SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse women's lacrosse opens the 2024 campaign at defending national champion Northwestern on Saturday, Feb. 10. The Wildcats are one of 11 teams that the Orange will face that competed in last year's NCAA Tournament.
Â
Syracuse opens the season on the road for just the third time since 2014. The Orange were the only team to defeat the Wildcats in 2023, recording a 16-15 victory in the season opener in the JMA Wireless Dome.
Â
Army, led by 'Cuse alum Michelle Tumolo, makes its first trip to the JMA Dome on Feb. 14 for the Orange home opener. After hosting Maryland on Feb. 17, Syracuse opens ACC play at Notre Dame on Feb. 24.
Â
The Orange return home to face Duke (March 2) and Stony Brook (March 5) before visiting Virginia Tech (March 9). A March 16 battle against North Carolina begins a stretch where 'Cuse will play five-of-seven games at home. Head coach and Syracuse alum Katie (Rowan) Thomson brings her UAlbany squad to the JMA Dome on March 20 before the Orange go on the road to face Virginia on March 23. The Orange close out the month with home contests against Loyola (March 27) and Louisville (March 30).
Â
Syracuse takes on Cornell in Ithaca on April 2 before hosting Pittsburgh in the final regular-season home game on April 6 at C-NS High School in Cicero. The Orange are on the road for their final two games of the regular season – at Clemson on April 13 and at Boston College on April 18 in a rematch of last year's national semifinals.
Â
The Orange, under the direction of third-year head coach Kayla Treanor, posted an 18-3 record last season. Syracuse won a share of the ACC regular-season championship and advanced to Championship Weekend for the second time in the last three years.
