
Robinson Named to U.S. Gold Cup Roster

CHICAGO – Syracuse All-American and current Atlanta United defender Miles Robinson has been named to the final 23-player U.S. Men's National Team roster for the upcoming 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup.

The BioSteel USMNT Training Camp opens June 20 in Chicago. The USMNT is part of Group A in the Gold Cup along with Jamaica, Nicaragua and a team that will be determined through the 2023 Gold Cup Prelims. The U.S. takes on Jamaica in its first group stage match on June 24 at Soldier Field. The USMNT will then play at CITYPARK in St. Louis on June 28 before closing out Group A play on July 2 at Charlotte's Bank of America Stadium.

Robinson is one of five players who will be part of both the USMNT Concacaf Nations League and Gold Cup squads. The team is currently preparing to take on Mexico in the semifinals on June 15 in Las Vegas. Robinson has 21 caps and three goals with USMNT. The center back started all six matches and scored two goals at the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup where he helped the U.S. secure five shutouts and scored the game-winning goal in the final in a 1-0 victory against Mexico.

A native of Arlington, Massachusetts, Robinson starred for the Orange for two seasons before signing a Generation adidas contract after his sophomore season. He was the No. 2 overall selection by Atlanta United in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft. During his two seasons at Syracuse, Robinson started all 42 matches in which he played and helped the Orange to 19 shutouts. He had four goals in both 2015 and 2016 and posted 17 points in his career.

Robinson was a semifinalist for the 2016 Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Award, which is the highest honor in collegiate soccer. He earned NSCAA All-America First Team honors and was voted the ACC Defensive Player of the Year.
