Syracuse Draws Virginia in ACC Tournament Opener

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – With the regular season officially in the books, Syracuse University will take on Virginia in the quarterfinal round of the 2024 ACC Field Hockey Tournament on Tuesday.
Fifth-seeded Syracuse and fourth-seeded Virginia will clash at 12:30 p.m. for the second game of the day on Tuesday, following the 10 a.m. game between top-seeded North Carolina and eight seed Wake Forest.
The winners of those two games will play on Wednesday afternoon at 1 p.m. with the 2024 ACC Field Hockey Championship game slated for a noon start. All seven games of the Tournament will be held at Wake Forest's Kentner Stadium and carried on ACC Network.
The Orange and Cavaliers meet for a second-straight season in the first round of the ACC Tournament. Earlier this year, then 12th-ranked Syracuse took No. 3 Virginia to a shootout, ultimately falling 3-2 after a 4-3 shootout decision. Tuesday's matinee will be just the second-ever neutral site meeting between Syracuse and Virginia on the field hockey pitch. Virginia won 2-1 in overtime in the only previous neutral meeting in Norfolk, Virginia.
