HAMMOND, LA. – Syracuse scored six runs in the final three innings to beat Maryland, 6-3, before losing to Southeastern Louisiana, 8-6, in the nightcap, at the Southeastern Louisiana Classic in Hammond, La.
Â

Â
Senior Angel Jasso recorded her sixth multi-hit contest of the campaign against the Lions, driving in her team-best 11th run of the campaign.
Â
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST MARYLAND:Â
After two scoreless innings, Maryland loaded the bases in the home half of the third following a leadoff walk and back-to-back infield singles, sending Jaeda McFarland to the plate. McFarland connected on the 1-2 offering from Hendrix, doubling home Michaela Jones and Madison Runyan for the 2-0 lead.
Â
Syracuse began its comeback; plating runs in the three final frames. The Orange leveled the game at two in the fifth. With the bases loaded, pinch runner Gabby Lantier scored on a throwing error before junior Tessa Galipeau scored the tying run on graduate student Rebecca Clyde's infield single the very next at bat.
Â
The Orange took the lead in the next frame, crossing the plate three times. With two runners in scoring position, sophomore Madelyn Lopez singled up the middle to score senior Angel Jasso. Two batters later, junior Laila Morales-Alves and pinch hitter Vanessa Flores connected on back-to-back RBI singles to left, giving Syracuse a 5-2 advantage.
Â
Delaney Reefe cut the Orange lead to two with a solo home run before junior Kelly Breen added an insurance marker in the seventh, singling through the left side to plate Syracuse's sixth run of the ballgame.
Â
Hendrix fanned nine batters in 5.1 innings of work, handing the ball off to junior Britney Lewinski. Lewinski yielded one base runner in 1.2 scoreless innings, picking up her second save of the season.
Â
Â

Junior Taylor Posner followed suit with an RBI double down the left field line before the pair scored on a fielding error by SLU's Faith Kivett.
Â
The Lions regained the lead in the fifth on a Lexi Johnson two-run homer and solo shot two batters later from Audrey Greely, putting the home team out in front, 6-4.
