CHESTNUT HILL, MASS. – Syracuse's comeback attempts fell short as it lost to Boston College, 2-1 and 3-2, Friday at the Boston College Softball Field.

Â
HOW IT HAPPENED IN GAME ONE:Â

Â
Syracuse looked to level the contest in the fourth, having a pair of runners in scoring position, but were unable to get any runs across.
Â
The Orange were able to mount a comeback in the top of the seventh. Junior Kelly Breen led off the frame with a walk and was lifted for pinch runner Gabby Lantier. In the next at bat, sophomore Vanessa Flores slugged her second double of the contest, plating Lantier from first.
Â
Boston College starter Abby Dunning was able to prevent anymore runs from scoring, securing the win for the home squad.
Â
Sophomore Madison Knight tossed all six innings for Syracuse, striking out six batters while allowing just four hits and one walk.

Â
Two innings later, junior Taylor Posner leveled the game at two with one swing of the bat. The junior launched her ninth home run of the campaign to centerfield, scoring senior Angel Jasso.
Â
Boston College would earn the victory in the bottom of the seventh when Slike singled through the right side for the walk-off win.
