
SU Signs Transfer Coval

Julia Coval (Stockholm, Sweden/Danderyds Gymnasium/Gardner-Webb) has signed a National Letters-of-Intent (NLI) to enroll and play soccer at Syracuse, according to Coach Nicky Thrasher Adams.

Coval spent her freshman year at Gardner-Webb. She started 12 of the 17 matches she played in. Coval scored two goals and an assist in Gardner-Webb's 7-0 triumph against South Carolina State. She played the full 90 minutes in October outings against High Point and Radford and logged over 1,000 minutes on the season. The Bulldogs were 4-12-2 last Fall.
She played for Danderyds Gymnasium in Sweden. Coval earned Idrottsskölden in 2022, which recognizes the most promising athlete. Her club team was AIK, which competed in Allsvenskan, the top flight of Swedish football. She won a captains award with AIK.
Coval joins five transfer students who signed National Letters-of-Intent at Syracuse:Â Blythe Braun (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Downers Grove North H.S./Florida Atlantic), Cierra Collins (Louisville, Ky./Male H.S./Mississippi State), Julia Dening (Remsen, N.Y./Remsen Central H.S./Siena), Mia Klammer (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac H.S./Saint Rose) and Dalani Stephens (Round Hill, Va./Woodgrove H.S./North Carolina Greensboro). All but Stephens enrolled in January.
Nine freshmen signed National Letters-of-Intent with Syracuse in November: Anna Croyle (Pennridge H.S./Sellersville, Pa.), Caitlin Driscoll (Noble & Grenough School/Sherborn, Mass.), Allie Fouts (Nationals GA Blue/Lake Orion, Mich.), Amanda Goldstein (Redondo Union H.S./Redondo Beach, Calif.), Lilly Heaslet (South Mecklenburg H.S./Charlotte, N.C.), Leda Naihin (Markham, Ontario/Queens), Vita Naihin (Markham, Ontario/Queens), Iba Oching (Whitecaps Elite REX/Coquitlam, British Columbia), and Gabby Wisbeck (Archbishop Spaulding H.S./Severn Park, Md.).
