
Field Hockey Holds at 15 in Coaches Poll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – After a split weekend, Syracuse University field hockey held steady in the number 15 spot in this week's Penn Monto/NFHCA Coaches Poll. The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced its most recent poll Tuesday morning.
Syracuse (5-2) picked up 328 points to hold down 15th for a second-straight week. North Carolina moved into first place with 1,058 points and 15 first-place votes, swapping with now-number two Northwestern, which received 40 first-place votes and 1,051 points. Virginia was third with 958 points while Ohio State (904) and Maryland (777) rounded out the top five.
Six teams in the ACC were ranked this week: No. 1 North Carolina, No. 3 Virginia, No. 9 Duke, No. 12 Boston College, No. 13 Louisville, and No. 15 Syracuse.
Nine of Syracuse's 2024 opponents were in the Top 20 poll this week: No. 1 North Carolina, No. 3 Virginia, No. 4 Ohio State, No. 9 Duke, No. 11 UConn, No. 12 Boston College, No. 13 Louisville, No. 16 Princeton, and No. 19 Penn State.
No. 15 Syracuse returns to North Carolina for a pair of ACC games, kicking off Friday night at Wake Forest for a 6 p.m. game on ACC Network. Sunday's noon game at No. 9 Duke will also air on ACC Network.
