SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Former Syracuse standout Nicole Levy '19 is returning to her alma mater. Levy is joining women's lacrosse head coach Regy Thorpe's staff as an assistant coach.
Â
"It truly is an honor to return home to such an amazing program and what I would consider 'my dream staff'," Levy said. "This program means so much to me and I am excited to continue honoring the tradition of a creative and competitive environment!"
Â
Levy has spent the past three seasons as the offensive coordinator at Florida where she helped lead the Gators to the national semifinals in 2024 and 2025. In 2024, Florida led the nation in scoring offense (17.6 gpg.), points per game (26.48), scoring margin (+9.09) and shooting percentage (.550). The Gators set program records in goals, assists and points that season. Levy was a member of the 2024 IWLCA and American Athletic Conference Staff of the Year.
Â
The East Islip, New York native began her coaching career at Colorado where she served as the offensive coordinator from 2019-23. In addition to directing the offense, Levy coordinated travel plans and assisted in recruiting and constructing practice drills.
Â
Currently, Levy serves as an assistant coach for the U20 Ireland National Team, which she helped guide to a 10th-place finish at last year's U20 Lacrosse World Championship. That finish was nine spots higher than the previous championship.
Â
"We couldn't be more thrilled to welcome Coach Nicole to our Syracuse Lacrosse family! Her passion for the game is unmatched, and she's a tireless recruiter with a sharp eye for talent," Thorpe said. "Nicole also brings a proven track record in player development that will make an immediate impact on our program. Having her return home — where she once excelled as a student-athlete — is incredibly special for our entire community. Our players, staff, and families are lucky to have her back on the Hill, and we're beyond excited for what the future holds. With Coach Nicole on our sideline, the future of Syracuse Lacrosse is brighter than ever!"
Â
Levy burst onto the collegiate scene in 2016 when she earned Rookie of the Year honors from Lacrosse Magazine, the ACC and ECAC. She was a first-team All-Northeast Region selection and a member of the NCAA All-Tournament Team that year when she recorded 68 points (46g, 22a). She earned All-Northeast Region honors all four years and was a two-time member of the Tewaaraton Award Watch List. Levy became the 10th player in program history to record 200 career points, finishing her career with 222.
