Molly Guzik and Coco Vandiver each earned Third Team All-America honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association on Wednesday, marking the first IWLCA All-America distinction for both players. The selections mark the fifth time in the last six seasons the Orange have placed multiple players on the IWLCA All-America teams.
Â
Guzik paced Syracuse's offense with 44 goals and 10 assists for 54 points on the season, earning First Team All-ACC recognition in the process. The sophomore found the back of the net in 18 of 20 appearances and tallied three or more goals in eight contests. Guzik experienced a career-night against then-No. 4 Northwestern, where she netted six goals to fuel a 9-6 road win, a performance that earned her both ACC Offensive Player of the Week and USA Lacrosse Magazine's National Player of the Week honors.
Â
Vandiver closed out her Orange career as the program's all-time caused turnovers leader, finishing with 122 for her career. Her 48 caused turnovers this season are second the second-most in a single season in school history. She anchored a defense that held opponents to 8.1 goals per game while generating 11.9 turnovers per contest against one of the toughest schedules in the country. Vandiver was also a Second Team All-ACC honoree.
Â
