Orange Announce Addition of Paisley Cook

Syracuse women's lacrosse head coach Regy Thorpe announced the addition of transfer midfielder Paisley Cook on Tuesday. A two-time First Team All-America East honoree and the reigning America East Midfielder of the Year, Cook brings 290 draw controls, 58 goals and 27 assists across three years at UAlbany.

Cook comes to Syracuse after leading UAlbany to back-to-back America East Championships. She was named the conference's Midfielder of the Year after posting 36 goals, 23 assists and 154 draw controls last season. Her 9.06 draw controls per game ranked 11th nationally and led the America East.

In the America East Championship game against top-seeded Vermont, Cook racked up four goals and three assists to go with 11 draw controls. She scored two goals and four assists in the semifinal game against Bryant and was named the conference tournament MVP.

Cook was named First Team All-America East as a sophomore as well after dominating the draw. She led the conference with 127 draw controls on the season while finishing the regular season 19th nationally in draw controls per game. She recorded 20 draw wins against New Hampshire, breaking the America East record and tied for the fourth most all-time in a Division I game.

She made an immediate impact as a freshman with UAlbany when she appeared in every game and scored 10 goals with nine draw controls.

Cook has competed on the international stage, playing with the Haudenosaunee National Team in a number of events, including this summer's Women's Lacrosse World Championships in Tokyo. She finished the tournament with 45 draw controls, the fifth most of any player at the event, while adding four goals.

Cook was a standout player at South Jefferson High School and was named a 2023 USA Lacrosse Magazine High School All-American.
