2009: Earned BIG EAST Championship All-Tournament Team Honors • Named the BIG EAST and ECAC Defensive Player of the Week for her performance at Connecticut.
2008: Started all 24 games • Scored the game-winning goal in 10-0 victory versus New Hampshire • Scored first goal of her SU career in 12-0 win against Colgate • Made her Orange debut in 5-0 victory versus No. 8 Old Dominion • Named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the fall semester • Earned NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad honors • Named to the 2008-09 BIG EAST All-Academic Team.
2007: Redshirted • Named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the fall semester • Named to the 2007 NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad • Selected to participate in USA Field Hockey’s High Performance Training program.
At Richmond (2006): Played in 17 games, recording one goal and one assist.
High School: Earned a total of 11 letters in her four-year prep career, including four in field hockey • Served as team captain as a senior • Named first-team all-state, first-team Patriot News Big 11 and a Mid-Penn Keystone Conference First Team All-Star as a senior • Mid-Penn Keystone Conference Second Team selection as a junior • Was a second-team all-state honoree and Second-Team Patriot News Big 11 member as a junior.
Personal: Born in September 1987 • Daughter of Jack and Mariann Voelmle • Her mother was part of the NCAA Championship field hockey squad at West Chester in 1978 and played for the Golden Rams from 1976-79 • Has two sisters and one brother • Majoring in nutrition.
Ambitions in hockey? To win a National Championship.
Strengths on the field? A good field sense and the ability to lead through communication.
Why did you choose SU? I knew it would be a great school academically and athletically I knew we were in a strong conference with tough competition.
