
Syracuse Leads, 34-24, Against Providence at Halftime

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Syracuse Orangewomen hold a 34-24 advantage at halftime of SU's BIG EAST tilt against Providence.
Junior Chineze Nwagbo leads all scorers with 14 points on 7-of-10 shooting, and has a team-high eight rebounds. Senior Julie McBride has 10 points and three assists after 20 minutes of action. She moved into second place on SU's career scoring list with 1,408 points in nearly four seasons. McBride is just the third Orangewoman to pass the 1,400-point plateau.
As a team, the Orange shot 51.9 percent (14-of-27) from the floor. Syracuse outrebounded the Friars, 19-10. SU led 9-4 with 14:01 left on the clock. The Orangewomen went on a 17-7 run to take a 26-11 advantage with 5:57 to play en route to their 34-24 halftime lead.
