Women's XC Cracks National Top-10

The Syracuse women's team entered back into the top-10 in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country (USTFCCCA) national coaches' poll on Tuesday with an eighth place ranking. This is the women's first time in the top-10 rankings this season and the first time since the Week Eight rankings last year. The women finished last season with a strong 10th place finish in the 2010 NCAA Cross Country Championships.
The women move up into the eighth spot in the nation after a third place finish at the Paul Short Invitational on September 30th. Last Friday, the women finished behind only BIG EAST schools Villanova and Providence, the top two teams in the national rankings, respectively. In addition, the women continue to hold the second position in the USTFCCCA Northeast Regional Poll, behind Providence.
The Syracuse men had a tough weekend with the Orange's fifth place finish in Paul Short, dropping them to 21st in the USTFCCCA National Coaches' Poll and third in the USTFCCCA Northeast Regional Poll.
The SU harriers will be off this weekend before the Wisconsin adidas Invitational and Pre-Nationals on Oct 14-16.
