Three Named to CHA Honor Roll

Three members of the Syracuse ice hockey team were named to the CHA Weekly Honor roll this week following SU's (0-2-0) season opening weekend against New Hampshire and Northeastern. Redshirt freshman forward Laurie Kingsbury, senior forward Holly Carrie-Mattimoe and junior defenseman Caitlin Roach were all recognized by the conference for having an impact during the Orange's games this past weekend. Kingsbury had an impressive debut for the Orange, tallying two-points over the weekend. The Valleyfield Quebec native tallied the primary assist on Carrie-MattÂmioe's second period goal against New Hampshire. Kingsbury also scored her first collegiate goal against Northeastern in the third period of Saturday night's contest. She led the Orange with 11 shots against the Huskies.

Carrie-Mattimoe led the Orange offense with a three-point outing against New HampÂshire on Friday night. Carrie-Mattimoe notched a powerplay tally 7:04 into the contest against the Wildcats. She sits in first on SU's career record list for power play goals with 16. A minute into the second period, the Sherwood Park, Alberta native scored off of a rebound of Kingsbury's initial shot. Carrie-Mattimoe also assisted on Caitlin Roach's second period goal.

Roach registered two points in the opening game against New Hampshire. She scored the third goal of her career in the second period to tie up the game 7:33 into the frame. She also tallied an assist on Carrie-Mattimoe's powerplay goal in the first period.

The Orange open up CHA play this weekend when they travel to Penn State on Saturday, Oct. 13th (7 p.m.) and Sunday, Oct. 14th (2 p.m.).
