SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse climbed three spots this week to No. 3 in this week's Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) poll. It equals the Orange's highest ranking during the regular season in program history.

A week later, SU held off a late comeback attempt by No. 3 Maryland to defeat the Terrapins 10-9. It was Syracuse's first win against Maryland in 12 tries and snapped the Terps' 36-game home winning streak.
The Orange held the No. 3 spot in the coaches poll for two consecutive weeks in 2009. SU was ranked No. 2 in the preseason poll that season.
Syracuse returns to the Carrier Dome on Tuesday, March 13 to host No. 18 Towson at 4 p.m. Admission is free of charge.
