Syracuse freshman Jace Lowry, winner of the junior men's race at the 2012 USA Cross Country Championship, captured the 2012 North American, Central American Caribbean (NACAC) Cross Country Championship last weekend in Port of Spain, Trinidad. Lowry's time of 18:50.55 won the event by four seconds in the 6k race.

Lowry, competing as part of Team USA, helped the Americans to 17-point victory against Canada. Also competing were athletes from Puerto Rico, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago.

Lowry was a two-time All-State cross country student-athlete while attending Martinsville High School, and was a member of the 2011 Indiana All-Star Team. He ran unattached at the John Reif Memorial on October 21 at Cornell, finishing 16th overall with a time of 27:49.90 in the five-mile race.

During the indoor track season, the Paragon, Ind. Native finished third in the 5000-meter run at the BIG EAST Championship with a time of 14:13.09 to reach the podium.
