Orange Set for Regular-Season Finale

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – No. 2/2 Syracuse hosts Villanova (4-11, 2-5) on Sunday, April 29 at 1 p.m. in the Carrier Dome in its final game of the regular season. The Orange (14-2, 7-0) is trying to go undefeated in BIG EAST play for the second time in school history.
The game will be broadcast live on WJPZ 89.1FM in the Syracuse area. Fans can also follow the game with live audio and video on Orange All Access on SUathletics.com. Subscriptions to Orange All Access are available at daily, monthly and yearly rates.

The Orange will honor its senior class prior to Sunday's game. Jill Cammett, Sarah Holden, Monika Klus, Janelle Stegeland, Lauren Welch and Heather Wentz will be recognized for their dedication to the Syracuse program. The group has guided the Orange to three BIG EAST regular-season titles and two NCAA Tournament appearances, including one trip to the national semifinals.
ORANGE EARN NO. 1 SEED
With its win against Loyola on Friday, Syracuse clinched the No. 1 seed in the BIG EAST Tournament, which starts Thursday, May 3 in the Carrier Dome. The Orange also claimed at least a share of the BIG EAST regular-season title with its victory against the Greyhounds. Syracuse has now won or shared the league's regular-season crown in five of the last six years.
SCOUTING VILLANOVA
Villanova has lost two straight and is 4-11 this season. The Wildcats have a 2-5 mark in BIG EAST play, which puts them in seventh place in the league standings.
Senior Justine Donodeo leads the Villanova offense. She has 41 points this season on 33 goals and eight assists – all of which are team highs. Dani Wiedmeier leads the Wildcats in saves with 75. She has a 13.84 goals-against average and a .361 save percentage.
Head coach Julie Young is in her first season at Villanova. Previously, she was the head coach at Haverford College after serving as an assistant at Pennsylvania.
THE SERIES
Syracuse and Villanova have met only twice prior to Sunday's game. The Orange has won both previous contests.
UP NEXT…
Syracuse hosts the BIG EAST Tournament next week in the Carrier Dome. The semifinals will be held on Thursday, May 3 at 5:30 and 8:15 p.m. The championship game is slated for Saturday, May 5 at 1 p.m.
