HAMILTON, N.Y. -- The women's soccer squad will be the first Orange squad in action this season when it takes on Colgate on Sunday in Hamilton, N.Y. Game time is set for 1 p.m. The The Raiders defeated Buffalo, 2-1, in its season opener on Friday.

THE SERIES
Syracuse and Colgate will meet for the 16th time on Sunday. The Orange has faced the Raiders more than any other non-conference opponent. The only school Syracuse has played more than Colgate is BIG EAST foe Connecticut. Last season's game between two schools was cancelled due to inclement weather caused by Hurricane Irene.

2011 SEASON IN REVIEW
Syracuse is coming off one of its most successful seasons in school history. The Orange posted seven wins in 2011, its highest total since head coach Phil Wheddon took over the helm of the program in 2008. Syracuse also registered six BIG EAST victories, the most since 1998 and the second-highest total in school history. SU finished third in the American Division and appeared in the BIG EAST Tournament for the first time since 2005.

HOME SWEET HOME
Syracuse will play seven home games this season, Last season the Orange played just five contests on its home field, its least amount of home games in program history. SU posted a 3-2 record in those games. In 2010, Syracuse went 4-2-3 at home. Overall, the Orange has an all-time record of 70-44-18 in games played at the SU Soccer Stadium.

Syracuse takes on Albany in its home opener on Friday, August 24 at the SU Soccer Stadium. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m. Admission is free of charge.
